Professor Börk Writes in The Conversation About Endangered Species and 'Harm'
Professor Karrigan Börk and Michigan State University Associate Professor Mariah Meek wrote a May 13 piece for The Conversation responding to a proposal by President Donald Trump’s administration to change the definition of “harm” in the Endangered Species Act.
“We recognize that the rule change the Trump administration quietly proposed could green-light the destruction of protected species’ habitats, making it nearly impossible to protect those endangered species,” Börk and Meek write.
Professor Börk teaches and researches in the areas of environmental law, natural resources, and administrative law. He graduated with distinction and pro bono distinction from Stanford Law School in 2009 and completed his Ph.D. in Ecology at UC Davis in September 2011. He received the Shapiro Family Award in 2011 as the outstanding Ph.D. graduate in ecology at UC Davis.
