Center for Business Law and Society

Join us on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 for our Inaugural Symposium, California and the Future of Business Law.

At UC Davis School of Law, we recognize that business law goes beyond market incentives and legal compliance. It addresses complex issues at the intersection of business, policy, and social impact. Building on this understanding, the Center for Business Law and Society (CBLS) will serve as a hub for research, collaboration, and engagement in business and tax law.

Situated near California’s capital, we are well-positioned to engage with initiatives that establish California as a leader in business law and policy. Our faculty are nationally recognized scholars whose research shapes legislation, policy, and business practices. Alongside our alumni—who lead across law firms, corporations, nonprofits, and government—CBLS seeks to influence how business and society interact. The Center will bring together experts, foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the university, and connect students with alumni and practitioners.

With the launch of CBLS, UC Davis School of Law deepens its commitment to advancing scholarship and contributing to critical legal and policy debates shaping business law today.
