Senior Associate Dean Afsharipour Addresses Prominent Audiences in Hong Kong

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Afra Afsharipour spent spring break as a visiting scholar in Hong Kong.

Afsharipour presented her recent scholarship on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues in merger and acquisitions transactions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and before an audience of attorneys at the Law Society.

Afsharipour presented her scholarship on gender diversity in corporate law, including her 2021 UC Irvine Law Review article “Women and M&A,” in a fireside chat with Teresa Ko, Freshfields China chairman and one of the most prominent corporate and securities lawyers in Hong Kong. Freshfields’ Hong Kong office hosted the event.

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, transactional law, and the legal profession. Her scholarship has appeared in the Columbia Law Review, University of Chicago Law Review, Minnesota Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, and UC Davis Law Review, among other leading publications.
