Nicole Larson '26, Olivia Shaw '26 Headed to Negotiations Nationals

Nicole Larson ’26 and Olivia Shaw ’26 placed first at the American Bar Association Regional Negotiations Competition held Nov. 2-3 at the University of Missouri School of Law. Larson and Shaw advanced to the national competition, which will be held in January in Chicago.

Andrew Bridges ’25 and Chris Martinek ’25 won their first round at the regional championship and scored competitively overall.

The teams wish to thank student coach Morgen Hopson ’25, who traveled to Missouri with them, and King Hall Negotiations Team faculty advisors Sarah McBride ’09 and Jeffrey Osofsky ’09.

Adjunct Professors McBride and Osofsky stepped in as KHNT advisors this year after Professor Donna Shestowsky, who had advised the team since its inception in 2007, became Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

McBride and Osofsky won the International Negotiations Competition as students at King Hall in 2009.

“When I envisioned my dream team for who could take over this year, it was very clearly Jeff and Sarah,” Shestowsky said. “So you can imagine how thrilled I was when they applied for the position. They won the world championship and now they have come back to give back to our negotiations team.”
