Charity Kenyon '77, Timothy Schooley Help Lead Third Appellate District Conference

Charity Kenyon '77 and Timothy Schooley, Supervising Attorney for the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, played a prominent role in the Third District Court's first conference, held on September 21. In addition, Kathleen Butz '81, Associate Justice of the California Court of Appeal, Third District, chaired the committee that organized the conference. Vikram Amar, Associate Dean and Professor of Law at King Hall, served as a member of the organizing committee. The event brought appellate practitioners and Superior Court judges from 23 counties to Sacramento for informational sessions and panel discussions, and drew coverage in the Sacramento Bee.

Schooley, who is a former supervisor of the King Hall Appellate Advocacy/Moot Court Program and who continues to teach summer courses at King Hall, took part in a panel on discussion that also featured the Court's principal attorney, David Hall, and retired Third District Presiding Justice Arthur G. Scotland. The session was moderated by Charity Kenyon, who recently retired after 35 years of practice in the Sacramento region.
