Business & Tax Law Mixer at Downey Brand

Tuesday, I attended the Business & Tax Law Mixer at the Sacramento office of Downey Brand.  It was a wonderful event, with a strong turnout of faculty, friends, and alumni on hand to meet with about 25 King Hall students interested in learning more about business and tax law and meeting practitioners in the field.

Faculty in attendance included Professors Afra Afsharipour, Robert Hillman, Evelyn Lewis, and B.J. Susich ’06, an Associate in the Taxation group at Boutin Jones who is teaching Accounting for Lawyers at King Hall.  More than a dozen alumni and friends were present, including John O’Malley ’98, a partner at Downey Brand and a member of the King Hall Alumni Association Board of Directors. Thanks to Ezrah Chaaban ’11 and the Student Alumni Relations Committee for helping to organize the event.

Events such as this mixer are an invaluable way for students to meet and learn from professionals in their prospective field, as well as a chance for alumni to reconnect with students and one another.  Thanks to John O’Malley and Downey Brand for hosting this successful event, and to all who attended!
