More than 150 UC Davis School of Law alumni and faculty came together for the 2008 Milestone Reunions held October 4 in the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center across from King Hall.
Greenberg Glusker, a leading national law firm, was honored at the 2008 California State Bar Convention in Monterey for its commitment to pro bono work. A number of senior partners at the firm—including Robert Chapman '76 and Jeffrey Spitz '85—are alums of UC Davis School of Law. California Supreme Court Chief Justice Ron George served as keynote speaker at the awards ceremony.
Several UC Davis Law students were honored with scholarships by the California Bar Foundation at the 81st annual meeting of the State Bar of California, held September 25-28, 2008, in Monterey.
On October 24 and 25, 2008, members of the UC Davis School of Law's Judicial Alumni Association (King Hall Alumni on the Bench) will meet in Davis to launch the association, participate in valuable panel discussions, and enjoy one another's company.

In a September 10, 2008, faculty panel discussion hosted by UC Davis law students, Professors Alan Browstein, Courtney Joslin, and Cruz Reynoso examined In Re Marriage Cases and California Proposition 8 (2008).
The UC Davis Civil Rights Clinic, under the supervision of Professor Carter White, was granted more than $46,000 in attorney's fees for their work on a religious freedom case.
UC Davis School of Law is pleased to welcome the 14 members of the LL.M. class of 2009 to King Hall. Countries represented by the LL.M. candidates include Georgia, Iraq, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey, and China. The group brings a wide variety of backgrounds and interests to King Hall: one LL.M. candidate served as a parliamentary intern, another as the legal advisor to his country's human rights ministry, and many others as attorneys in their native countries.
The statue of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that has prominently graced the lobby of the Law School building since 1987, has been moved to the Mabie Law Library reading room while King Hall is under construction.
