King Hall Faculty, Students, Staff, and Alums Attend Unity Bar Dinner

The Unity Bar Association of Sacramento held its annual Unity Bar Dinner on October 30 at the Radisson Hotel Sacramento with numerous King Hall faculty, staff, students, and alumni in attendance. 

A unique organization composed of the Asian/Pacific Bar Association of Sacramento (ABAS), the La Raza Lawyers Association of Sacramento, the Wiley Manuel Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Sacramento, the South Asian Bar Association, and Sacramento Lawyers for the Equality of Gays and Lesbians (SACLEGAL), the Unity Bar Association holds its annual dinner to honor outstanding public service and present student scholarships

King Hall faculty in attendance included Dean Kevin R. Johnson, Associate Dean Vik Amar, Professor Albert C. Lin, Professor Evelyn A. Lewis, Professor Lisa Pruitt, Professor Dylan O. Malagrino, and Professor Clay Tanaka, with staff members Associate Director of Career Services and Public Interest Career Planning Kirsten Hill and Director of Academic Success Emily Randon also present.  Among the more than 50 Law School students in attendance were Ramaah Sadasivam ‘09 and Ayesha Sheikh ‘11, who each received a scholarship and offered remarks. 

King Hall alumni at the dinner included Assistant U.S. Attorney General Larry Brown '89; Carol Livingston '80 and her son Jeff Leacox '88, both of whom are now with the Sacramento firm Greenberg Traurig; the Honorable Judy Hersher ‘84, Sacramento Country Superior Court Judge and head of the UC Davis School of Law Alumni on the Bench Association; Patricia Tsubokawa Reeves '86 of Reeves & Associates in Sacramento; Floyd D. Shimomura '73, Senior Assistant Attorney General with the California Attorney General's Office; Alberto Roldan '92, Chief Deputy General Counsel with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), and Amy Alley '01, CDCR Staff Counsel.
