Professor Kelly Behre has been appointed to the American Bar Association Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence. She will serve a one-year term.

Behre previously served on the commission from 2018-21, before she termed out.

Professor Darien Shanske spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle for an Aug. 21 story about how Stanford is the only university in California that will pay hundreds of millions in taxes under the national spending bill that President Donald Trump signed into law in July.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson is the keynote speaker at this year's Richard J. Childress Memorial Lecture, hosted by the Saint Louis University School of Law Journal. On Oct. 10, Johnson will deliver the lecture "The Supreme Court and Immigrants' Rights in a Second Trump Era."

This week marks the start of Latinx Heritage Month. The celebration, which runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, honors the achievements and contributions of the Latinx community.
