Professor Emeritus Alan Brownstein wrote a Nov. 18 op-ed for The Hill headlined “Universities need better communication with the public that funds them.”  

Greater discussion is needed regarding university governance, Brownstein writes.

Professor Shayak Sarkar presented his ongoing research on the taxation of domestic workers at the National Tax Association in Boston and the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Advanced Topics in Taxation Colloquium.

Shayak Sarkar's scholarship addresses the structure and legal regulation of inequality. His substantive interests lie in financial regulation, employment law, immigration, and taxation.

Professor Carlton F.W. Larson appeared on the Nov. 1 episode of the podcast The Legal Edition. The episode is titled “Who is Guilty of Treason and is There Really an Enemy Within?”

Professor Elizabeth Joh spoke to Wired for a Nov. 5 story headlined “Zohran Mamdani Just Inherited the NYPD Surveillance State.”

The mayor-elect’s progressive ideals conflict with the city’s police surveillance policies, Joh said. She noted that immigration enforcement will “almost certainly be a flashpoint,” since “the use of technology in that context is alarming people.”

The Association of American Law Schools has invited Professor Kevin R. Johnson to be a regular contributor to its newly acquired TaxProf Blog. AALS recently announced that it will now host the long-running blog that attracts more than 800,000 readers a year.

Professor Karrigan Börk gave the keynote speech at Delta Stewardship Council’s 2025 Adaptive Management Forum in October.

Professor Kelly Behre spoke at Wayne State University in September as part of the Wayne Law Review symposium “Assessing the Last Decade(s) of Anti-Sexual Violence Legal Movements.”

Speaking on the “Backlash Against Anti-Sexual Harassment Movements” panel, Behre gave the presentation “How Campus Formal Responses to Gender-Based Violence Still Harm Student Victims.”
