Charles “Dom” Ayotte earned his undergraduate degree cum laude in Government from Harvard University in 1994. After graduation, he entered active duty in the USAF and served as a Special Agent in the USAF Office of Special Investigations. He later transferred to the USAF JAG Corps and received his law degree cum laude from Baylor University School of Law in 2001, with an emphasis in Criminal Practice, where he was an Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review. He served as a Judge Advocate until 2006, in both criminal prosecution and defense counsel positions, and as a (criminal) Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas. In 2007, he joined the US DOJ, Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he held various positions for over 18 years, culminating in service as the Western Regional Counsel, overseeing legal services in more than 20 federal prisons in the western United States. He joined the Career Services Office in 2025.
