On 'PBS NewsHour,' Professor Cooper Discusses Threats to Due Process Rights
Professor and Immigration Law Clinic Co-director Holly Cooper appeared on PBS NewsHour in April as part of a segment sparked by a federal judge’s accusation that President Donald Trump’s administration had tried to obstruct the truth about the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador.
Cooper told reporter Laura Barron-Lopez that the administration’s decisions are weakening due process rights, and that “it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say this is a life-or-death situation to provide fair procedures for our immigrants.”
Professor Holly S. Cooper has extensive litigation experience defending the rights of immigrants and is a nationally recognized expert on immigration detention issues and on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
