CILC Announces Human Rights Fellowship Competition

The California International Law Center at King Hall (CILC) has announced the 2010 UC Human Rights Fellowship Competition, offering the opportunity for registered UC Davis students to compete for two fellowships of $4,500 each to facilitate human rights-related fieldwork.

The fellowships, funded by the University of California, enable each student recipient to carry out clearly defined fieldwork related to the student's area of study with human rights organizations in the United States or abroad. The purpose of the fellowship is to provide students with an opportunity to contribute to the work of the organizations while also gaining practical experience that may influence the students' areas of research or academic focus.

The fellowship program welcomes multi-disciplinary approaches to human rights fieldwork. Students are encouraged to publish the results of their fieldwork. Preference will be given to graduate students and returning students.

More information about the fellowship process is available on CILC's website at http://www.law.ucdavis.edu/centers/cilc/careers.html.  The deadline for applications is 4 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2010.  Interested candidates should note that the fellowship requires a letter from a sponsoring organization.
