In anticipation of 1L and 2L Summer Associate programs, UC Davis School of Law’s Career Services office hosted a “Meet the Employers” event on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the UC Davis Conference Center.

This event attracted nearly 120 first-year students and included attorneys from 40 major law firms, including leading local firms, for an evening of conversation and connection. Firms in attendance included Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Latham & Watkins, Kirkland & Ellis, Morrison Foerster, Downey Brand and more.

Led by Manager of Recruitment Programs Kim Thomas and supported by the Career Services team, the event provided students the opportunity to learn about a variety of firms.

The strong turnout and engagement pushed the event past its scheduled end time. Many of the employer representatives were UC Davis alumni, including Mariah Noah ’21, an associate at Boies Schiller Flexner in San Francisco.

Students received a complete list of attending employers and firm representatives before the event, allowing them to strategically target their outreach, and connect with firms in their areas of interest.
