King Week Inauguration Event Featured in Bee, Enterprise
The video presentation of the January 20 inauguration of President Barack Obama that took place in the King Hall student lounge as part of the UC Davis Black Law Students Association King Week events drew coverage from both the Sacramento Bee and Davis Enterprise.
The Enterprise story included reactions from Jacquelyn Butcher-Rankin '10. "We as a nation-not matter what color, no matter what religion-we did it together," she said of Obama's election. "We all have moved together."
The Bee article quoted Deborah Gettleman '09. "He could have gone to work with any firm he wanted, but he went out and worked in the community," she said of Obama. "It's the stuff that gives you chills."
