Immigration Clinic, La Raza Students Co-sponsor Nov. 7 Citizenship Fair
The UC Davis School of Law Immigration Clinic and La Raza Law Students Association are co-sponsors of a Citizenship Fair, scheduled for November 7.
Fair attendees can receive free legal help in completing and filing naturalization applications, attend classes on the naturalization examination, and try mock interviews.
"We cannot overstate the importance of preparation for the naturalization process. The Immigration Law Clinic is proud to co-sponsor the citizenship fair to helps immigrants secure greater rights in this country," said Professor Amagda Pérez, Director of the Immigration Law Clinic and Executive Director of the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation.
The Immigration Law Clinic provides an invaluable service to Northern California's immigrant communities, offering education and free legal services to low-income immigrants facing deportation while enabling King Hall students to gain practical, real-world experience. Through the clinic, students provide advice and counsel on a range of immigration questions for clients who otherwise could not afford legal counsel. In doing so, students gain a better understanding of the daily problems, legal and otherwise, of poor and working-class immigrants. Over the years, the nationally renowned clinic has represented people from all over the world, consistently producing favorable results for clients.
The citizenship fair runs from 11am - 3pm on Saturday, November 7 at McGeorge Law School in Sacramento. See the linked flier for more information.
