Professor Carlton F.W. Larson will discuss his new book, One Nation Under Law: The Meaning of the Declaration of Independence. On the declaration's 250th anniversary, it is more important than ever to understand our nation's founding document. Professor Larson will explore how the declaration created an American nation and how it committed us to the rule of law and constitutional government. He will also identify the correct text of the document (it is not the parchment copy in the National Archives) and explain the downsides of overly identifying the declaration with Thomas Jefferson.

MCLE credits and lunch will be provided.
