This event recognizes and celebrates the Public Service Law Program Scholars, the Pro Bono Certificate recipients, Clinical award recipients, and the Spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award Honorees. This week is the UC Davis Latinx Law Students Association's Culture Week. Join LaLSA for a mixer, followed by a presentation by Judge Alberto Rosas, on Wednesday, April 3, from 5 - 7 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect and network with one another. I hope you will join us! 

Today, we observe César Chávez Day, which honors the legendary labor organizer and civil rights activist. Leader of the United Farm Workers union, Chávez died in 1993 after decades of working to better the lives of exploited agricultural workers. Always aligned with ours, his messages of equality and progress reverberate throughout our King Hall community.

On March 19, the Aoki Center on Critical Race and Nation Studies presented an expert discussion by Erika Gonzalez, who works for the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST).

On March 18, UC Davis School of Law held a judicial reception at the Robert T. Matsui U.S. Courthouse to honor the Eastern District of California federal judges in Sacramento. Over 75 people attended the event, including 50 students, Judges Troy Nunley, Kimberly Mueller, Dale Drozd, Daniel Calabretta, William Shubb, Ronald Sargis, Allison Claire, Carolyn Delaney, Dennis Cota '86, Jeremy Peterson, numerous law clerks, and others to celebrate our local federal judges.
