S.F. Standard Quotes Professor Shanske on Union Support of 'Billionaire Tax'
Professor Darien Shanske spoke to The San Francisco Standard for a June 9 story about how labor groups are divided on California’s “billionaire tax” November ballot initiative.
Shanske helped draft the initiative, which would impose a one-time, 5% tax on the state’s billionaires to support health care and other state services hurt by federal cuts.
Darien Shanske is a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
