Professor Joslin Assists with Bill Passed by Illinois Legislature

Professor Courtney Joslin provided assistance on the Equality for Every Family Act (HB 2568), which will update Illinois’ parentage statutes to ensure that all children and families are protected. Joslin also served as the Reporter for the Uniform Parentage Act (2017), upon which this legislation is based.

On Oct. 29, the Illinois Legislature passed the bill and now awaits Gov. JB Pritzker’s signature.

A press release about the bill included a quote from Joslin: “This critical legislation fills gaps in existing Illinois parentage law."
