Lauren Carden '11, Krista Celentano '11 Excel in National Moot Court Competition

The King Hall team of Lauren Carden '11 and Krista Celentano '11 competed in the national round of the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. on April 21-23, advancing to the semifinals before being bested by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville College of Law team, the competition's eventual winner.

The competition is sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the national round featured the top two teams from each of four regional competitions.  Carden and Celentano earned a spot at nationals by winning the West regional in Palo Alto last month.

"Our success was due in large part to the quality of the moot court program at UC Davis School of Law and the support of the King Hall community," said Carden.  "This was a great learning experience and we could not have done it without the generous help of Lov Goel '10, Scott Burkette '10, Professor Peter Lee and Professor Tim Schooley.  We were very honored to represent King Hall in the competition."
