S.F. Chronicle, Capital Public Radio Showcase Professor Chin's Chicago Cafe Research

In a Feb. 13 front-page story (visual here, text here), the San Francisco Chronicle highlighted Woodland’s Chicago Café and an interdisciplinary UC Davis research project led by Professor Gabriel “Jack” Chin. Chin's Asian Exclusion Research Project determined the Chicago Café is California’s – and perhaps the nation’s – longest-running Chinese restaurant.

Chin spoke to the Chronicle and also appeared on the Jan. 31 episode of Capital Public Radio’s Insight program, along with Amy Fong -- daughter of the Chicago Café’s owners -- and UC Davis Law senior editor Carla Meyer.

Chin also appeared on a “Good Day Sacramento” Jan. 23 live report from the café.

Gabriel “Jack” Chin is a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law and holder of the Edward L. Barrett Jr. Endowed Chair at UC Davis School of Law. He is a prolific and much-cited criminal and immigration law scholar whose work has addressed many of the most pressing social issues of our time.
