If you were unable to attend our Open House for Prospective Applicants (held each fall semester), consider joining us for an information session that is designed to explain general aspects of the admission process. Discussion centers on the content of the personal statement, admission policy and procedure as well as address your questions about the application process. A tour of King Hall and its expansive new wing is included!
Visiting a Class
If you would like to visit a class, contact the Admission Office approximately 3 — 5 days prior to your visit.
Given adequate notification and faculty approval, the Admission Office can usually arrange for you to visit a first-year class.
It is imperative that visitors arrive on time for class and remain until the class ends. Each class lasts approximately 50 minutes. To see the list of courses and times on our web site go to Schedules. To see course descriptions go to Course Descriptions.
Guided tours for individuals and prelaw groups are available by arrangement. Individuals should contact the Admission Office by telephoning 530.752.6477 at least one week in advance of the visit. Groups should make arrangements at least 2-3 weeks in advance.
Law student volunteers act as tour guides and provide a personalized view of the school based on their own experiences. Guided tours usually begin around the beginning of October. Please consult the Law School academic calendar to determine when classes are in session and student tour guides are available. Guided tours are not available during reading periods, exam periods, holidays, and summer vacation. (See Student Services > Registrar> Academic Calendar)
Directions & Accommodation Information Links
In addition, as a campus courtesy, Telecommunications has installed a voice-mail tape that provides directions to the Davis campus. The recorded instructions advise visitors traveling by car from the east, west, north and Sacramento International Airport on how to reach the visitor information booth on Old Davis Road. To reach the "Directions" mailbox, dial 530.752.4500.
South Entry Parking Structure is the closest visitor parking lot to King Hall. Daily Visitor Permits are available from permit dispensing machines located at the entrance to the structure. The parking fee is $7.00 in quarters, $1 dollar bills or credit cards. Parking is free on weekends and observed holidays unless special event parking is enforced.
Please do not park at the meters on the street outside King Hall as they are constantly monitored and parking beyond the posted time limit is a violation. Stop at the information kiosk as you enter the campus if you need additional assistance or look at the online Campus Map or Google Maps .
