Open House for Prospective Applicants (Fall Semester)
Our next Open House will be held in Fall 2014. Attending our Open House is a great opportunity for you to experience what King Hall has to offer. In addition to learning about the admission and financial aid process, faculty members highlight aspects of our curriculum, their special legal interests and examine growing trends in law. Staff and students discuss programming, resources and employment opportunities available through the Career Services Office as well as the value of participating in journals, a clinics/externship, trial and appellate advocacy programs, an exchange program, and the UCDC Law Program. Current students share the inside scoop on life as a law student. An optional tour of King Hall and its expansive new wing is available immediately follows the program.
Directions and accommodation are located at the bottom of this page. When visiting King Hall, we recommend that you park in lot 1 (South Entry Parking Structure), which is in near the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. Allow 8-10 minutes to walk from the structure to the law school. Parking is free on the weekends. The weekday parking rate is $8.
Noon Hour Information Sessions - Saturday, December 14, 2013 and Saturday, January 4, 2014
In addition to the annual Open House for Prospective Applicants, consider joining us for an Information Session, designed to explain general aspects of the admission process. Learn the answers to your questions about personal statements, letters of recommendation and much more. A tour of our recently renovated, state-of-the-art facility, typically led by a current student, will immediately follow the Session. Pre-registration is encouraged.
Visiting a Class
If you would like to visit a class, contact the Admission Office approximately 3 to 5 days prior to your visit.
Given adequate notification and faculty approval, the Admission Office can usually arrange for you to visit a class.
It is imperative that visitors arrive on time for class and remain until the class ends. Each class lasts approximately 50 minutes. To see the list of courses and times on our web site go to Schedules. To see course descriptions go to Course Descriptions.
Guided tours for individuals and prelaw groups are available by arrangement. Individuals should contact the Admissions Office by telephoning 530.752.6477 at least one week in advance of the visit. Groups should make arrangements at least 2-3 weeks in advance. Individuals may also request sit in on a class by completing the tour and class visit request form or by calling the Admissions Office.
Law student volunteers act as tour guides and provide a personalized view of the school based on their own experiences. Guided tours usually begin around mid-September. Please consult the Law School academic calendar to determine when classes are in session and student tour guides are available. Guided tours are not available during reading periods, exam periods, holidays, and summer vacation. (See Student Services > Registrar> Academic Calendar)
