Richard Nguyen '11 Publishes Op-ed in San Jose Mercury News

Richard Nguyen '11, an attorney with Sackett and Associates in San Jose, has published an op-ed in the San Jose Mercury News regarding a proposal to decrease the number of elective classes required for high school graduation in the San Jose Unified School District.

"Instead of improving the graduation rate and student achievement, the proposal puts visual and performing arts programs in jeopardy and threatens student success," Nguyen writes, noting how high school choir and mock trial programs helped him to develop the confidence he needed to become an attorney. Nguyen now volunteers as an attorney-coach for the mock trial team at Lincoln High School, where he was a student.
