Professor Joslin Co-authors Brief in Ninth Circuit Same-sex Marriage Case

Professor Courtney Joslin, working with UC Berkeley School of Law Professor Joan Heifetz Hollinger, participated in drafting a brief filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on behalf of 50 family law professors in the case of Sevcik v. Sandoval, which challenges Nevada's laws banning marriage between same-sex couples. The brief demonstrates that the Nevada marriage ban is in direct conflict with Nevada law related to marriage, parentage, and child welfare.
