Dean Johnson Named Among '25 Most Influential in Legal Education'

Dean Kevin R. Johnson has been named as one of the 25 most influential people in legal education by National Jurist magazine.  "The list is a who's who of the people who have shaped the discussion over the past year, which has been a challenging and pivotal year," said Jack Crittenden, National Jurist's Editor in Chief.

In putting together the list, National Jurist requested nominations from every law school in the nation, and received more than 85. The magazine's editorial staff narrowed the list down to 50 and then asked 350 people in legal education to rate each nominee based on how much they influenced them in the past 12 months. Dean Johnson is one of 11 law school deans on the list. Like the others on the "most influential" list, he will be profiled in National Jurist's January issue.

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
