Judge Frank Ochoa '75 Honored with John T. Rickard Judicial Service Award

Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Frank Ochoa '75 has been honored by the Santa Barbara County Bar Association with the John T. Rickard Judicial Service Award. The award honors his contributions to the judiciary, courts, and community.

Ochoa was appointed to the Santa Barbara Municipal Court bench in 1983 by Governor Jerry Brown, and was elected in 1996 to the Santa Barbara Superior Court, where he served as Presiding Judge from 1998 to 2001.  He has also served on numerous boards and commissions, including the California Judicial Council's Trial Court Budget Commission, the Executive Board of the California Judges' Association, and as Chair of CJA's Court Administration Committee.  He founded and organized the Latina/o Lawyers' Association of Santa Barbara, and participates in many community organizations.
