King Hall Hosts ABA Client Counseling Competition

UC Davis School of Law hosted the American Bar Association's Client Counseling Regional Competition on February 17-19, bringing 12 teams from law schools around the western United States to King Hall.  The competition was run by the King Hall Negotiations Team.

Coached by Professor Donna Shestowsky, the teams of Allison Sloan '12 and Saba Shatara '13 and Alexandria Goff '12 and Leah White '13 represented King Hall in the competition, which focused on the topic of education law.  The teams completed mock in-take interviews and legal counseling sessions of client actors representing teachers, parents, and students involved in various conflicts related to K-12 education.  After five rounds of competition, Debra Amens and Cheryl Grames from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law took first place and, with it, an invitation to the ABA's national competition to be held next month in Durham, North Carolina.  The King Hall team of Goff-White advanced to the semifinal round.
