UC Davis School of Law Welcomes Biagioli, Saucedo, and DeSantis to Faculty

King Hall welcomes Mario Biagioli, Leticia Saucedo, and J. Angelo DeSantis to its esteemed faculty of renowned legal scholars.

Mario Biagioli is a Distinguished Professor of Law and Science and Technology Studies (STS) and Director of the new Center for Innovation Studies.  At King Hall, he will teach courses on intellectual property in science and on the history and philosophy of intellectual property.  Prior to joining King Hall, he was Professor of the History of Science at Harvard University, specializing in intellectual property in science.  He has also taught at UCLA, Stanford, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes in Science Sociales (Paris), and the University of Aberdeen (Scotland).  For more than a decade, Professor Biagioli has been studying problems of authorship and priority attribution in contemporary "Big Science."  A former Guggenheim Fellow, he is a founding member of the International Society for the Theory and History of Intellectual Property (ISTHIP). 

Leticia Saucedo is a Professor of Law and the Director of Clinical Legal Education.  An expert in employment, labor, and immigration law, she taught Torts and Immigration Law and co-directed the Immigration Law Clinic at the Wm. S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).  She has developed courses in international and domestic service learning that explore the immigration consequences of crime and domestic violence in a post-conflict society.  Saucedo's research interests lie at the intersections of employment, labor, and immigration law.  She currently holds a position as a research scholar with the Chief Justice Warren Institute on Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity at UC Berkeley School of Law.

J. Angelo DeSantis '08 returns to King Hall as a Legal Writing and Research Professor.  He joins the law school from the San Francisco office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where he was a member of the firm's Litigation Practice.  His experience includes participation in several complex commercial insurance matters and a commercial contract dispute.  While in law school at King Hall, DeSantis was a judicial extern for the Honorable Rodney Davis of the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District.
