Rebecca Connolly '89 Elected to Santa Cruz Superior Court

Rebecca Connolly '89 has been elected to the Santa Cruz County Superior Court bench.  Though her term is set to begin January 1, Connolly may take the judge's oath shortly following the retirement of Judge Mike Barton, whom she is set to replace, in August.

Connolly earned her law degree from King Hall after graduating with high honors from UC Berkeley. Following law school, Connolly obtained a prestigious clerkship for Judge William J. Rea, United States District Court for the Central District of California, and later for Patricia V. Trumbull, Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California. From 1991-1994, she worked as a staff attorney with California Rural Legal Assistance's Migrant Farm Worker Project in Fresno. She has broad experience as a litigator that includes participation in more than 20 federal cases.  An Aptos resident, Connolly has worked since 2003 with the Watsonville firm of Grunsky, Ebey, Farrar & Howell.
