Matt Bogoshian '88 Appointed to Federal EPA

Matt Bogoshian '88 has been appointed as a deputy assistant administrator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, the Obama administration announced last week.

Bogoshian, a Navy veteran and longtime Monterey County resident, was appointed general counsel and deputy secretary for law enforcement at the California Environmental Protection Agency by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007.  Six years prior, he founded the Monterey County District Attorney's Environmental Protection Unit.  He has helped prosecute several landmark environmental cases throughout California, and helped to develop a regional cap-and-trade system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
