Anna Stolley Persky '94 Quotes Professor Perschbacher in Student Lawyer

Anna Stolley Persky '94, who works as a freelance writer in the Washington, D.C. area, has published an article in Student Lawyer in which she quotes Professor Rex Perschbacher on the subject of "Fictional Lawyers," and the ways in which they differ from real-life attorneys.  The article considers what law students may learn from the examples of various fictional portrayals of attorneys, from Perry Mason to L.A. Law to Breaking Bad.

While fictional portrayals can be instructive in some respects, often touching on common ethical dilemmas, they generally have little to do with the day-to-day practice of law, Perschbacher said.  "Nobody wants to show you a lawyer spending two years in document review," he said.
