Anthony Friedman '15 Honored with Legal Research and Writing Award

CEB Finalists and Award RecipientAnthony Friedman ‘15 was awarded first place in the CEB Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing at an awards ceremony at King Hall on November 7. The annual writing competition for King Hall students is sponsored by Continuing Education of the Bar, California (CEB), a nonprofit organization of the California State Bar Association and the University of California. Friedman will receive a $2,500 cash prize.

Also receiving recognition as finalists in the competition were Andrew Alfonso '15, Austin Cho '15, and Jeff Mendelman '15, who were chosen by their professors for having submitted the best briefs in their respective sections of the Law School's first-year Legal Research and Writing Course.

The award ceremony featured statements from Professor Clay Tanaka, director of the UC Davis School of Law Legal Writing Program, and Pamela Jester, CEB's executive director.

Jester praised the high quality of the students' work and affirmed the importance of research and writing skills the practice of law.
