Professor Imwinkelried Speaks at Evidence Conference in Beijing

Professor Edward Imwinkelried attended the Fourth International Conference on Evidence and Forensic Science in Beijing, China.  The conference on July 20-21 was sponsored by China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL).  For several years, UC Davis School of Law has had an affiliation with CUPL, one of the leading Chinese law schools.  On the first day of the conference, Professor Imwinkelried spoke on the subject of "Forensic Metrology: A New Honesty About the Uncertainty of Measurement in Scientific Analysis." On the second day, he chaired a panel on the process of proof.

At the end of the conference, Professor Imwinkelried participated in a meeting of the governing council of the International Association of Evidence Science.   At the meeting, the council began planning for the fifth international conference, which will be held in 2015. While he was in Beijing, Professor Imwinkelried was named an Honorary Research Fellow of CUPL's new Center for Judicial Reform.
