Doug Bojack '14 and Laura Gallagher '14 Excel in ABA Client Counseling Nationals

Doug Bojack '14 and Laura Gallagher '14 represented UC Davis School of Law at the National American Bar Association Client Counseling Competition held on March 2-3 in Waco, Texas. The team advanced to the semifinal round, an achievement that placed them among the top six teams nationwide out of an initial field of 128 teams.

The competition simulated meetings between a client and legal counsel and tested the law students' ability to gather information from the client, identify the legal and non-legal concerns, and formulate advice. The theme for the competition this year was employment law and employment discrimination. Bojack and Gallagher encountered various legal scenarios ranging from harassment and discrimination claims to non-compete agreements to the intersection of immigration and employment law.

The King Hall Negotiations Team and the competitors would like to thank their Faculty Advisor, Professor Donna Shestowsky for her support and guidance, as well as student coach Leah White '13 and all of the student volunteers who helped them prepare. The team would also like to thank the Dean's Office for its financial support.
