Professor Dunning to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from Bay Institute

Professor Emeritus Harrison C. "Hap" Dunning will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bay Institute, a nonprofit public service organization focused on the conservation of the San Francisco Bay and its watershed.  He will receive the honor at the Bay Institute's Inaugural Awards Ceremony in San Francisco on April 11.

Dunning helped to found the environmental law program at UC Davis School of Law and is one of California's most respected environmental law scholars. Among many achievements, his scholarly work helped to establish the Public Trust Doctrine as a key principle in California environmental law and helped provide the legal basis for restoration of Mono Lake and areas of the San Joaquin River.  He continues to volunteer service on several nonprofit boards, including the Bay Institute and the Tuolumne River Trust.
