Ryan Lore '14 and Jennifer Maguire '12 to Represent UC Davis in Better Living Business Plan Challenge

King Hall student Ryan Lore '14 and alumna Jennifer Maguire '12 have been selected to represent UC Davis at the Walmart Better Living Business Plan Challenge Competition.  They are being honored for their work at Roadwise Technologies Inc., a start-up company that aims to harvest currently wasted roadway energy through an innovative application of nanotechnology. Roadwise has developed DynaFilmTM, a thin film that relies on novel nanotechnologies to generate energy. DynaFilm is installed under asphalt to capture energy created by the sun's heat and the pressure of passing vehicles. Lore and Maguire received the People's Choice Award at the 2012 UC Davis Big Bang Business Planning Competition and placed fourth at the 2012 DOE Clean Tech Business Planning Competition at Caltech. They will represent UC Davis at the regional round of the Walmart Challenge in February 2013.
