Professor Shestowsky Comments on Shooting Suspect for Detroit Free Press

Professor Donna Shestowsky commented for the Detroit Free Press on the case of a man accused of 24 shootings along Interstate 96.  It may be difficult to determine a motive for the shootings, she said, if the suspect's mental health is in question.

"Until you really understand what's going on in the person's mind, it's hard to explain why they might be doing what they're doing," said Shestowsky.

Donna Shestowsky, who has both a law degree and a PhD in Psychology, is a Professor at UC Davis School of Law, where she teaches Criminal Law, Negotiation Strategy, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar in Legal Psychology.  She was the 2007 recipient of the Law School's Distinguished Teaching Award.
