Raha Jorjani Conducts Immigration Law Training Session at National Lawyers Guild Annual Convention

Raha Jorjani conducted a training session on "Contesting Removability Based on Alleged Criminality" and served as faculty for the National Immigration Project's Annual Continuing Legal Education "Criminal and Due Process Issues in Removal Hearings" program presented as part of the National Lawyers Guild's Annual Convention held in Pasadena, California on October 10.

The National Immigration Project (NIP) of the National Lawyers Guild is one of the few national legal support groups that specialize in defending the rights of immigrants facing incarceration and deportation. NIP remains at the cutting-edge of criminal immigration litigation in the United States and was recently cited by the U.S. Supreme Court in Padilla v. Kentucky.

Raha Jorjani is a staff attorney and lecturer in the Immigration Law Clinic at the UC Davis School of Law with a special interest in advocacy on behalf of detained immigrants.
