Sister Simone Campbell '77 Speaks at Democratic National Convention

Sister Simone Campbell '77, executive director of Network, a national Catholic social justice lobby, addressed the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on September 5.  Her address was broadcast by a wide range of media covering the convention, and it was the subject of a feature story on CNN analyzing the significance of her speech for President Obama as he seeks support from Catholic voters.  

Campbell has served as Executive Director of Network since 2004. She is a religious leader, attorney and poet with extensive experience in public policy and advocacy for systemic change. In Washington, she lobbies on issues of peace building and economic justice.
