Dean Johnson Comments on Obama Immigration Policy

Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented for the Sacramento Bee on the Obama administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which allows undocumented immigrants between the ages of 15 and 31 who were brought to America before the age of 16 and have no criminal record to apply to remain in the United States and work legally.

"The employment part of it is especially tangible and valuable because it allows people to become full and productive members of society," said Dean Johnson.

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
