Amit Rana '13 Awarded Peggy Browning Fellowship

Amit Rana '13 has been awarded a 10-week summer fellowship by the Peggy Browning Fund.  He will spend the fellowship working at Mehri & Skalet PLLC in Washington, DC.

The Peggy Browning Fund will support nearly 70 public interest labor law fellowships nationwide in 2012.  With more than 500 applicants from 125 participating law schools, securing a Peggy Browning Fellowship is highly competitive, and Peggy Browning Fellows are required to have distinguished themselves not only in law school but also by demonstrating a commitment to workers' rights through their previous educational, work, volunteer and personal experiences.

Amit Rana is involved with the Middle Eastern and South Asian Law Student Association and is an Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review. He has developed a keen interest in labor and employment law through his academic coursework and while externing at the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Prior to law school, he worked in environmental advocacy and philanthropy.
