HP’s Office of the General Counsel has approximately 900 employees in over 40 countries, supporting all aspects of HP's business and regulatory agenda. The mission of the Office of the General Counsel is to provide legal advice and support that helps our clients achieve the company's business objectives in a manner that complies with applicable legal and ethical standards.
HP’s Office of the General Counsel will run its 1L Summer Clerkship Diversity Program again this summer. Paid positions are available in HP’s Houston, Dallas (Plano), and Palo Alto offices. The program is designed to enhance the legal careers of first year law students of diverse backgrounds. The program additionally gives qualified candidates the opportunity to augment their legal education, establish meaningful contacts, improve the quality of their work product through comprehensive feedback, and aspire to a rewarding career in the law.
Law Clerks in HP’s Office of the General Counsel will have the opportunity to work independently and/or in conjunction with senior attorneys on a wide variety of projects in Commercial & Competition Law, Intellectual Property, Litigation, Corporate (Securities and M&A), Employment, Environmental, Ethics and Compliance, Real Estate, and Procurement/Contracts.
Currently enrolled in your first year of law school.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
• Proficiency with standard office technology e.g. computers, office equipment, etc.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem solving and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team
