Goodwin Procter & MassMutual / Goodwin Public Interest Fellowship for Law Students of Color
Deadline: March 14, 2014
For the past eight years, Goodwin has invested in a diverse legal community by offering fellowships to high-achieving law students of color. Our fellowship program offers awards of $7,500 to students of color who work in public interest positions the summer after their first year of law school. In addition to the monetary fellowship award, selected fellows are guaranteed a "straight-to-callback" interview with the Goodwin Procter office of their choice in the fall interview season during their second year of law school. Fellows will also be invited to participate in some of our summer associate program events during their summer at the public interest organization.
In addition to the three Goodwin Fellowships described above, we partner with our client Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company to provide a additional fellowship award, the MassMutual/Goodwin Public Interest Fellowship for Law Students of Color. MassMutual is also strongly committed to promoting diversity in our profession and in its business.
For all Fellowships, we welcome applications from any first year law student of color who is seeking and/or applying to work in a public interest law position during the summer after the student’s first year of law school. Applicants must be a full-time, currently-enrolled first year student of color who is pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at an ABA-accredited law school. To be awarded a Fellowship, candidates may not be the recipient of a similar scholarship award from another law firm for the summer. Please note: judicial internship positions are not eligible for this program.
