King Hall at UCDC in the Nation’s Capital

Last week, the law school held a very successful reception at the University of California's Washington, D.C. center, also known as UCDC.  UC Davis School of Law recently joined the UCDC program, a new internship program that gives King Hall students the opportunity to see firsthand how laws are made in the nation's capital.

In attendance were several law school alumni, two King Hall students who are taking part in UCDC, and an admitted student (who we hope will become a part of our class of 2013!).  Steve Pershing, Executive Director of the UCDC Law program gave us a warm welcome and introduced me.  It was great to see many familiar faces, including Alumni Board member Sally Schwettmann '04; Paul Igasaki '79, this year's commencement speaker and Chair and Chief Judge of the Administrative Review Board at the U.S. Department of Labor; Paul Rosenthal '75 and James Chandler '70, both of whom are helping to plan their class reunions this year; Marlon Cobar '00, who was recently promoted to the DOJ; Sergio O'Cadiz '96; and Nick Bourke '06.

I told alumni about the King Hall Expansion, which is set to be completed in a few short weeks.  I also encouraged them to help place our UCDC students in internships.

The event was a lot of fun, so, enjoyably, it ran longer than planned!
