Commencement Honors Class of 2012

California Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu delivered an inspiring
commencement address and Brittany Cheney '12 was presented
with the Law School Medal for academic achievement at the
UC Davis School of Law 2012 Commencement Ceremony on
May 17 at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

King Hall Career Services Office Expands Contract
Hiring Program

Seeking new ways to help UC Davis School of Law graduates
succeed in a challenging job market, the King Hall Career Services
Office launched a contract hiring program last year that has been a hit
with both law firms seeking talented new associates and King Hall
alumni alike.  Now, plans are in motion to expand the program and
increase the opportunities available to recent graduates.

King Hall to Launch California Supreme Court Clinic

UC Davis School of Law is set to launch the state's only law school
clinic focused on litigating cases before the California Supreme Court,
offering students the invaluable opportunity to work on actual cases
pending before the state's highest court.

Central Valley Foundation Gives $90,000 to Support
King Hall Outreach Program

The Central Valley Foundation has made a pledge of $90,000 to
UC Davis School of Law to support the King Hall Outreach Program
(KHOP), an innovative, intensive law school preparation program
designed to increase diversity among law students and in the legal
profession.

Distinguished New Faculty to Join King Hall

Professors Karima Bennoune of Rutgers School of Law-Newark and
David Horton of Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, are joining the UC
Davis School of Law faculty, effective July 1, 2012.  Professor Rose
Villazor of the Hofstra University School of Law has also accepted an
offer to join UC Davis School of Law.  In addition, Professor Emma
Jordan of Georgetown Law will teach at King Hall as a visiting
professor next spring.

King Hall Alumni: Get Ready for 2012 Milestone Reunions!

UC Davis School of Law alumni from the Classes of ’72, ’77, ’82,
’87, ’92, ’97, ’02, and ’07 are getting set to return to King Hall on
October 27 to renew old friendships, celebrate classmates’
successes, and reminisce with faculty and others at the 2012
Milestone Reunion.  Reunion Planning Committees are already hard
at work, but volunteers are still needed to help make this year’s
milestone reunions everything they can be!
