Silicon Valley entrepreneur Jason Goldman, a co-founder of Twitter,
highlights a list of online business leaders, legal scholars and
practitioners, and industry experts set to explore issues surrounding

Entrepreneurship, Science, and Law (TESLaw) on February 3 at

UC Davis School of Law played a prominent role in the Association of
American Law Schools (AALS) 2012 Annual Meeting in Washington,
D.C. on January 4-8, with numerous faculty speaking and taking
leadership positions in meetings, discussions, and presentations.
In addition, the Law School hosted a successful King Hall Alumni
and Friends reception in conjunction with the conference, and the
late Professor Keith Aoki was honored with two posthumous awards.
King Hall's academic centers—the California Environmental Law
and Policy Center, California International Law Center at King Hall,
and Center for Science and Innovation Studies –brought added
strength to UC Davis School of Law's programs in environmental law,
international law, and intellectual property during 2011, significantly
contributing to the intellectual vitality of King Hall.
Florian "Bart" Bartosic, Dean of UC Davis School of Law from 1980-
1990, has died. A prominent labor lawyer and esteemed scholar and
teacher, Bartosic played an integral role in King Hall's growth and rise
to national prominence during the 1980s. He was 85 years old.
A beloved teacher and colleague, his loss will be mourned
throughout the King Hall community.
