Eduardo Ramirez Castro to Receive California Bar Foundation Diversity Scholarship

Eduardo Ramirez Castro '16 has been awarded a California Bar Foundation Diversity Scholarship.  Given by the California Bar Foundation to 22 first-year law school students attending law schools across the state, the scholarships will provide $7,500 to help students cover the cost of tuition and expenses. Ramirez Castro was chosen from 140 applicants to be this year's Lim Ruger Foundation Scholar.

Growing up in California, Ramirez Castro worked as a farmworker. As a student at California State University, Sacramento, he earned membership in the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honors Society and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He has worked as an English tutor for multilingual students, volunteered with the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic's naturalization workshops, and worked as a paralegal in an immigration law firm. He is a recipient of the UC Davis School of Law Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship.
