Professor Ventry Cited in Defense of Marriage Act Article

An article in Digital Journal examining the role of expert commentators and witnesses in swaying public opinion regarding the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) spotlights Professor Dennis Ventry as an economics and law scholar whose writings and advocacy demonstrated how DOMA adversely affected the taxes and personal finances of same-sex couples whose marriages were not recognized under federal law.

Professor Ventry is an expert in tax policy and legal ethics. His research interests include tax expenditure analysis, family taxation, professional responsibility and standards of care, tax filing and administration, tax compliance, public finance, and tax and legal history. In addition, he was recently added as a co-author on the casebook, Legal Ethics and Corporate Practice.
