Dean Johnson Comments for Comstock's on Challenges in Legal Education

Dean Kevin R. Johnson contributed comments to an article in Comstock's magazine exploring challenges faced by law schools.  Dean Johnson said that UC Davis School of Law has responded to the employment market in part by placing greater emphasis on clinical training and by drawing upon its alumni network for support.

"We're doing what we can to enhance the skills, exposure and understanding of our students," said Dean Johnson. "The idea is to give our students an edge in getting them ready and equipped to be lawyers. Law firms are demanding that. It's part of what we view as our charge."

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
